Continue to D/S Ørnefjell for a list of some convoy voyages and misc. info. Whale catcher (A/S Ørnen, Sandefjord). Hired by Royal Navy as auxiliary patrol vessel and minesweeper from Jan 1940. This original document from the National Archives of Norway shows some of her voyages. POST WAR: Returned to Dahl in Dec.-1945. Sold in June-1952 to I/S Tromstrål, Tromsø, renamed Tromstrål I. (For info; Seksern was sold the following year, renamed Tromstrål II). Ørnen 3 was sold again later and got the name Sjøhelt. De-rigged and broken up in Kristiansund in 1982. (Thor Dahl had previously had a whale catcher named Ørnen, built 1902, 103 gt, which caught whales for their factory Admiralen in May-1906, the first whale factory to the Antarctic Oct. 21-1905, ex Gibraltar, sold 1909).
