CONVOY SC 25
Departed Halifax on March 10-1941 and arrived Liverpool on the 29th.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 32 ships in this convoy.

Transcribed from original documents received from Tony Cooper (Advance Sailing Telegram) - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.
The station numbers and names of escorts have been extracted from documents recived from Don Kindell, based on Arnold Hague's database - see
ships in all SC convoys.

Further details have been added with the help of:
"Axis Submarine Successes of World War Two", Jürgen Rohwer
"The World's Merchant Fleets 1939", R. W. Jordan
"Lloyd's War Losses", Vol. II.

Crossed out ships did not sail, underlined returned to port (except those that are linked, which will automatically be underlined. The Norwegian Gezina and Havtor, however, did return).

Note also that some of the ships from Convoy HX 114 are said to have sailed with SC 25 for a while. They were: The British Comanchee and Roxby, and the Norwegian Inger Lise and Velox. A. Hague has also included the Greek Nestos in SC 25 - cargo of sulphur (again, see Hague's listing for SC 25 at ships in all SC convoys). This ship is also listed in Convoy HX 114, but there's no mention in the documents for that convoy that she was among those said to have joined SC 25. According to R. W. Jordan's "The World's Merchant Fleets 1939", Nestos ran aground at Hoyle Bank on Apr. 2, total loss.

Notes:
Commodore was in Barrdale, Vice Commodore in Filleigh.
Milford Commodore in Zurichmoor.
Barry Commodore in Fanø.

Frances Dawson is said to have been on fire in Halifax on March 8-1941 (2 days before Convoy SC 25 left), becoming a total constructive loss. However, she was taken over by MoWT 1941 and renamed Empire Tyne - see the website about the Empire Ships that I've linked to below.

Koranton, on a voyage from Philadelphia (Sept. 8-1940?) for Hull with 8769 tons of pig iron, became a straggler and was torpedoed and sunk by U-98 on March 27. She had a crew of 34 and 2 gunners, all of whom perished.

The convoy arrived rendezvous on March 25.
