CONVOY SC 18
Departed Halifax on Jan. 2-1941 and arrived Liverpool on the 19th.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 27 ships in this convoy.

Transcribed from original documents received from Tony Cooper (Advance Sailing Telegram) - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.
The station numbers and names of escorts have been extracted from documents recived from Don Kindell, based on Arnold Hague's database - see
ships in all SC convoys.

Crossed out ships did not sail, underlined ships returned to port (except those that are linked, which will automatically be underlined - the Norwegian Berto, however, did return to port).

MoWT=Ministry of War Transport

For info, some of these ships are also listed in Convoy OB 244

*Comparing the information in this table with Arnold Hague's listing for SC 18 at ships in all SC convoys, we see that he has not included Kingsland in this convoy. Instead, he has her in Convoy SC 17. Note, however, that she's listed in the original Advance Sailing Telegram for SC 18.

Notes:
Commodore was in Manchester Spinner, Vice Commodore in Geddington Court.
Clyde Commodore in Cydonia.
Mersey Commodore in Embassage.

The Dutch Rescue Vessel Hontestroom was with this convoy for a while, on her 1st voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on Jan. 10-1941 with Convoy OB 272, until dispersal Jan. 14, then returned to Clyde with Convoy SC 18 Jan. 17 - to Clyde Jan. 19. "Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).

The convoy arrived rendezvous on Jan. 15.
