CONVOY SC 165
Departed Halifax on Jan. 16-1945 and arrived Liverpool on the 31st.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 32 ships in this convoy.

(Note that between Convoy SC 164 and SC 165 the following eastbound convoys had sailed:
HX 330, CU 53, HX 331, CU 54, and HX 332).

Notes:
The Rescue Vessel St. Clair was on her 4th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on Dec. 24-1944 with the westbound Convoy ON 274, to Halifax Jan. 6-1945, then returned to Clyde with Convoy SC 165, Jan. 16-Jan. 31-1945. Her previous voyage had been with ON 263 / HX 321. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).

Ships sunk (info from "Lloyd's War Losses", Vol I).
British Freedom, on a voyage from New York and Boston for Halfiax and U.K. with 9723 tons of fuel oil, was torpedoed and sunk by U-1232 on Jan. 14-1945, when en route (with Convoy BX 141) to join Concoy SC 165. She had a crew of 48 and 9 gunners - 1 crew died.
Athelviking, on a voyage from Port Everglades and Boston for Halifax and U.K. with 11630 tons of molasses and some assault craft, was also torpedoed and sunk by U-1232 that day. She had a crew of 43 and 8 gunners - the captain and 3 crew died.
