The Rescue Vessel Goodwin was on her 8th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on Febr. 28-1944 with the westbound Convoy ONS 30, to Halifax March 13, then returned with SC 156 to Clyde March 29-Apr. 13 ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).
* Oldham was abandoned due to a broken propeller shaft on Apr. 10 and her 51 crew recovered by Goodwin, while Oldham was towed to St. John's. For more deatils on Goodwin's other rescues on this voyage, see Ruth I and South America. |
