According to the Advance Sailing Telegram, the following were also scheduled, but did not sail: The British Lowlander (from HX 182) - general cargo for Avonmouth. Listed in HX 184. The Norwegian tanker Svenør - for Clyde. Had been sunk en route to Halifax on March 27-1942, follow the link to my page about this ship. The British Pandorian - general cargo for Liverpool. Listed in HX 184. The British Athelchief - tanker, bound for Mersey. Listed in HX 184. The British British Power - tanker, bound for Bowling. Listed in HX 184, returned, later joined HX 185 from St. John's, N.F. (according to A. Hague). The British British Glory - Admiralty tanker, bound for Scapa. To HX 184, did not sail, listed in SC 79. The Norwegian Rio Novo - general cargo for Bristol. Listed in HX 184. The British Robert F. Hand - tanker, bound for Avonmouth. Listed in HX 184. Also, according to notes for Convoy SC 78, Empire Marlowe and Empire Carey in that convoy came from HX 183. Morgenen had been cancelled from the previous convoy, HX 182, while Empire Johnson is listed as cancelled from Convoy SC 77. (Later became Dutch Paulus Potter). |
