CONVOY HX 337
Departed New York City on Febr. 7-1945 and arrived Liverpool on the 21st.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 68 ships in this convoy.

Transcribed from several documents received from Tony Cooper - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.
Details re. Arctic convoys were found in "Convoys to Russia 1941-1945" by Bob Ruegg and Arnold Hague.

Crossed out ships did not sail.
A 1 form is not available to me and, therefore, I don't know the station numbers for these ships.

For info, some of the ships in this convoy had previously arrived with the westbound Convoy ON 277; see also ON 278.

Also, the Rescue Vessel Bury - see Notes below.

Notes:
Commodore, Captain B. W. L. Nicholson, R.N. was in the Norwegian Laurits Swenson.

Commodore's notes are not available.

The Rescue Vessel Bury was on her 20th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde with the westbound Convoy ONS 40 on Jan. 12-1945, to Halifax Jan. 30 - returning to Clyde with Convoy HX 337, Febr. 9-Febr. 21. Towards the end of this voyage she was instrumental in rescuing 36 of the crew of one of the escorts, HMS Vervain, which was sunk on Febr. 20 by U-1276 (I've also seen this sinking credited to U-1208). Bury's previous voyage had been with Convoys ON 267 / HX 325. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).

Please note that more information on all the Norwegian ships listed in this convoy can be found with the help of the index below.

The attack on HMS Vervain - As will be seen the U-boat was sunk by one of the other escorts, HMS Amethyst.

Eastbound convoys 1944 & 1945 - This page shows all the other eastbound convoys sailing in 1944 and 1945 in chronological order.

Liberty Ships - This website has been used to check the spelling of all the Liberty ships listed in this convoy (convoy docs don't always have the correct spelling, or they may be difficult to decipher); as will be seen, a few of them had just been delivered in Jan.-1945.
The Empire ships website also lists "Sam"-ships and other Liberty ships.

Russian Convoys - JW 65 and RA 66 are included.
