Doña Aurora sailed in the next convoy. According to A. Hague, Egda, Empire Faith, Empire Sailor, Novelist, Reuben Tipton and Settler were detached as a fast section (no date is given). |
The ships departed in the following order (according to the diary): The first ship to leave shortly after 10 was Egda, followed by Fort Chambly, Settler, Pacific Exporter, Tortuguero (Commodore vessel), Empire Faith (Catapult freighter. NJN on Hurricane), Empire Bittern, Doña Aurora, Novelist (Catapult freighter. LUG on Hurricane), Daltonhall (Catapult freighter. NJZ on Hurricane), Prinses Maria-Pia, Comanchee, Empire Sailor ('B' flag, loaded with trucks), Reuben Tipton, Empire Mahseer, Delilian, Empire Tamar, Fort Louisburg, Kaia Knudsen (at 12:28). A.
