CONVOY HX 190

Convoy HX 190 Cruising Order
Departed Halifax on May 17-1942 and arrived Liverpool on the 28th (Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" says 18 ships).
List received from Ted Agar, England. (His source: A diary).

Cargoes have been extracted from a document received from D. Kindell, based on the late Arnold Hague's database - see his listing for HX 190 at Ships in all HX convoys.

Empire Sailor and Empire Bittern had been cancelled from the previous convoy, HX 189.

Doña Aurora sailed in the next convoy.

According to A. Hague, Egda, Empire Faith, Empire Sailor, Novelist, Reuben Tipton and Settler were detached as a fast section (no date is given).



The ships departed in the following order (according to the diary):
The first ship to leave shortly after 10 was Egda, followed by Fort Chambly, Settler, Pacific Exporter, Tortuguero (Commodore vessel), Empire Faith (Catapult freighter. NJN on Hurricane), Empire Bittern, Doña Aurora, Novelist (Catapult freighter. LUG on Hurricane), Daltonhall (Catapult freighter. NJZ on Hurricane), Prinses Maria-Pia, Comanchee, Empire Sailor ('B' flag, loaded with trucks), Reuben Tipton, Empire Mahseer, Delilian, Empire Tamar, Fort Louisburg, Kaia Knudsen (at 12:28).

Agassiz - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
Butser - From 28/05/42 to 28/05/42
Collingwood - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
Hamilton - From 17/05/42 to 20/05/42
Mayflower - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
Rosthern - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
Saskatoon - From 17/05/42 to 20/05/42
Sorel - From 17/05/42 to 20/05/42
USCGC Campbell - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
USCGC Ingham - From 20/05/42 to 27/05/42
Witch - From 17/05/42 to 20/05/42
