Notes: For info, the Swedish Boren was later renamed Skåne and is listed as such in some later convoys on this site - see, for instance, SC 58. The convoy had 43 ships - 41 remaining at rendezvous point, Apr. 8. Prins Willem II and Aelybryn lost touch with the convoy, hove to in a gale on the night of Apr. 6/7 in position 56 00N 29 30W - last seen at 23:30 on Apr. 6. Prins Willem II was torpedoed and sunk as noted above. From the Commodore's notes: Escorts: HMS Rajputana from Halifax - parted company at 22:00 on Apr. 9 in 62 00N 25 00W (sunk on Apr. 13 by U-108). HMS Achates, HMCS Collingwood, HMCS St. Croix, HMS Tribune. The local Canadian escort vessels sailed with convoy from Halifax until they left on March 29 as arranged. There's also mention of a destroyer HMS Bordelia or Bordecia? which joined convoy at 12:00 on Apr. 10 in 62 00N 22 50W. Air Escort: All the Norwegian ships mentioned in this convoy are discussed on this website - they can be found with the help of the index below.
