CONVOY SC 86

Departed Sydney, C.B. on June 5-1942 and arrived Liverpool on the 20th.
(Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 35 ships)

The Rescue Vessel Melrose Abbey was also with this convoy. She was on her 1st voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on May 12-1942 with the westbound Convoy ON 94 - to Halifax, May 25. She then sailed with HS 9 from Halifax to Sydney, C.B. (June 3-June 5), subsequently joining Convoy SC 86 to return to Clyde, June 5-June 18.

Notes:
Commodore was in Baron Fairlie, Vice Commodore in Ramø, Rear Commodore in Grodno.
Loch Ewe Commodore: In Llandaff.

Note that Mälaren is listed as Sälen in some later convoys on this website.
