CONVOY SC 84
Advance Sailing Telegram and Cruising Order
(Will be updated - please compare with A. Hague's listing for this convoy at
ships in all SC convoys. See also SC escorts).

Departed Halifax on May 14-1942 and arrived Liverpool on the 29th
(Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 45 ships)

The Rescue Vessel Dewsbury (requisitioned July 24-1941) was also with this convoy. She was on her 4th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde on Apr. 22-1942 with the westbound Convoy ON 88 (to Halifax May 6), returning with SC 84 on May 14, to Clyde May 28.

Oregonian, Cydonia, Boreas, Shaftesbury, Peter Helms, Empire Sunrise, Atland, Keila, and Stratford were not included in Ted's list and, therefore, station numbers for these ships are not known.


The ships left Halifax in the following order:
The first to leave at 11:20 was the Egba (Commodore ship), followed at 11:24 by Fylingdale, and with a few minutes between each ship, John Witherspoon, Bristol City, Egton, Dorothy Luckenbach, Beauregard, Yemassee, Castilian, Inger Lise, Glaisdale, Daniel Morgan, Spero, Ruth I, Iron Baron, Noreg, Empire Gazelle, Richard Bland, Trolla, Veni, Dewsbury, Sulev, Philip T. Dodge, Carbella, Campfire, Lago, Elizabeth Massey, Polaris (F 11), Norluna, Para, Fjallfoss, Antinous, Condylis, Maud, British Pride, Aneroid, and the last to leave was Bonde at 14:54.
