CONVOY HX 304
Departed New York City on Aug. 17-1944 and arrived Liverpool on Sept. 1.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 89 ships in this convoy.

Transcribed from several documents received from Roger Griffiths - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.

Details re. Arctic convoys were found in "Convoys to Russia 1941-1945" by Bob Ruegg and Arnold Hague.

Crossed out ships did not sail, underlined ships returned to port.
A 1 form is not available to me and, therefore, I don't know the station numbers for these ships.

Notes:
Commodore Rear Admiral O. H. Dawson was in Samtampa, Vice Commodore was S. N. White R.N.R. in Norwegian Emma Bakke. Commodore's notes are not available.

The Rescue Vessel Perth was on her 26th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde with the westbound convoy ON 246 on July 26-1944, to Halifax Aug. 6, returning with Convoy HX 304 on Aug. 19, to Clyde Aug. 31. She picked up 3 men from a Swordfish from the M.A.C. ship Empire Macandrew. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).

Please note that more information on all the Norwegian ships listed in this convoy can be found with the help of the index below.
