CONVOY HN 18 – Norway-U.K.
Left Norway on March 10-1940 and arrived Methil on the 13th.

Transcribed from Advance Sailing Telegram received from Tony Cooper, England - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.

Convoy stations are not known.

A document listing all the Norway-U.K. Convoys states that Convoy HN 18 had 36 ships, including 3 from Orkneys bound for the east coast. 3 were British, 11 Norwegian, 12 Swedish, 8 Finnish, 2 Estonian, 10 were bound for the west coast. (The 3 joining from the Orkneys may not be included in this table). As will be seen, the AST also has a ship listed as Danish.

* Kaupo is listed as Danish in the Advance Sailing Telegram, 2410 gt. In a list of ships received from D. Kindell, based on the late Arnold Hague's database, this ship is listed as the Latvian Kaupo of 2905 gt. He otherwise agrees on the whole with the above, except A. Hauge has listed the Estonian ship as Jaak of 1351 gt, given as Taak (1369 gt) in the Advance Sailing Telegram, and he says Forsvik was Norwegian (Norway had a ship named Korsvik).

Toratre is said to have been sold in Jan.-1940 and renamed Valør.
