* The tonnage for the Norwegian Bur is given as 1956 gt - this was the tonnage of the Swedish Bur, which is included on another page of the Advance Sailing Telegram. My guess is that the tonnage given for the Norw. Bur here is a simple error in the confusion of having 2 ships by the same name in the AST (she was 4344 gt).

For info, the above 4 ships are listed as cancelled on one of the AST documents, below a note saying "Additional ships sailing from Wabana" - but they show up again on a separate document.

Convoy SC 98 Cruising Order
From received from Ted Agar - His source: A diary.

Halifax ships only are listed here. As can be seen, Oropos and Empire Dabchick are not included and, therefore, station numbers are not known.

The stations given are the intitial convoy stations on departure; these may have changed as the voyage progressed.

* Dromus probably did not sail - she's not included in the Advance Sailing Telegram, and she also shows up in HX 207, leaving Halifax on Sept. 13.

Notes:
Commodore was in Baltrover, Vice Commodore in Llandaff, Rear Commodore in Gloucester City.

The Halifax ships went out in the following order (according to T. Agar's information):
The first to leave at 12:10 was Baltrover, followed at 12:22 by Llandaff, then with a few minutes between each ship, Cap Cantin, Empire Gareth (this ship is listed as Empire Gannet in the diary, but this appears to be an error), Clarissa Radcliffe, Newton Pine, Empire Steelhead, Thorsholm, Gloucester City, Empire Norse, Bjørkhaug, Bur, Ampetco, Scottish Heather, Dimitrios Chandris, American Robin, Dromus, Marga, Rossum, Dimitrios Inglessis, Bruse Jarl, Novasli, Zeus, Henrik Ibsen, Morska Wola, Moscha D. Kydoniefs, Margit, Pendeen, Lisbeth, Doris, Innerton, Empire Porpoise, Archangelos, Clearpool, Titanian* (LJKV), Wisla, Maud, Senga, Empire Bruce, Panama City (KJJN), Ragnhild, Blairatholl, Collingsworth, Vistula, Empire Dunlin, Barberrys, Montreal City, Empire Grenfell, Keystone, Arkansas, Empire Whale, Ingertre, West Portal, Selbo, Elswick Park, Glarona, and the last to go out at 17:45 was the Norwegian Grado.

* This ship is listed as Norwegian Titania in the diary, but as Titanian of 4880 gt in the Advance Sailing Telegram. (More details on all the Norwegian ships in this convoy can be found with the help of the alphabet index below).
