U-394 was sunk on Sept. 1 by Keppel, Mermaid, Peacock and Whitehall in a massed "creeping" attack.

No merchant ships were lost.

Escorts:
Aug. 28-Sept. 4: Sloops Mermaid and Peacock, destroyers Keppel and Whitehall and frigate Loch Dunvegan.
Aug. 28-Sept. 5: Cruiser Jamaica, escort carriers Striker, Vindex, destroyers Caprice, Marne, Meteor, Milne and Musketeer.
Aug. 28-Sept. 6: Sloop Cygnet and corvettes Bluebell, Camellia, Charlock, Honeysuckle and Oxlip.

The above escorts had arrived with Convoy JW 59.
