This page will be updated - in the meantime, please go to ships in all ON convoys.

Convoy ON 270 Cruising Order
Departed Southend on Dec. 3-1944 and arrived New York on the 22nd (Arnold Hague gives 49 ships)
For info, some of the ships in this convoy returned to the U.K. only a few days later with Convoy HX 328, others with HX 329 (Dec. 29), some with later HX convoys.
Also, some of them had previously been in the eastbound Convoys
HX 316, HX 317, HX 318, HX 319, and HX 320, Nov.-1944.

Underlined ships returned to port.

Br=British, Am=American, Gr=Greek, Norw=Norwegian, Du=Dutch, Pa=Panamanian.

Comparing the above with a list of ships in Convoy ON 270 on this page, based on the late Arnold Hague's database, we find the following differences:

He does not mention Albert C. Ritchie, Hannibal Hamlin, John Woolman, Manchester Exporter.
He has the American Augustus S. Merrimon in station 63, while he has Empire MacRae in station 64.
In station 114 he has the American Benjamin Brown French, while Rosedale Park has been given station 113.
In station 73 he has the British Empire Dickens, and Empire Sceptre has been given station 112.
George Poindexter is in station 61, while Port Sydney is listed in station 35.
Manchester Division is in 95, Manchester Port in 85.
The American Oakley Wood is in 53, and he has Samcree in 106.
Thomas U. Walter is in 111, and he has added the American William W. Mayo (station unknown).
As can be seen, some of these ships are not mentioned above.
