CONVOY ON 261
Departed Southend on Oct. 20-1944 and arrived New York City on Nov. 5.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 37 ships in this convoy.

This document gives departure U.K. as 08:00Z on Oct. 23-1944.

Cruising order is not available.

A few subsequently returned to the U.K. with Convoy HX 319 on Nov. 9-1944, others with
HX 321 or HX 322 later that month.

Zamalek was on her 27th voyage as rescue vessel, joining the convoy from Clyde on Oct. 21-1944, to Halifax Nov. 3. She subsequently returned to the U.K. with Convoy HX 319 on Nov. 11, to Clyde Nov. 25-1944 ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).
