Robert Martin also sent this form, but no date is visible on the document - I believe this shows the formation from Gibraltar to Bone (again there's no Column 1 or 5).
Nationalities of ships already mentioned in the above forms have not been noted. |

Notes: Francis Parkman and Topdalsfjord were very slow and slack at repeating signals. Stad Maassluis, Harbury and Empire Lancer had excessive and dangerous smoke from funnel. Empire Metal was bombed and sunk at Bone on Jan. 2-1943. She had 4000 tons of aviation fuel on board, crew of 47 and 9 gunners - 6 died. She was still on fire on Jan. 6, broken in 2 abaft the amidship house. Wreck raised in 2 parts in 1949, last part raised in May 1950. St. Merriel (from the previous convoy) was also struck that day, crew of 37, 11 gunners and 10 passengers - 5 crew and 1 gunner lost. Still on fire in No. 3 hold Jan. 6, resting on bottom with big hole in her starboard side. Struck by bomb on foredeck during air raid on Febr. 9, refloated and towed to outer port Dec. 12-1948 and beached Grenovillere. After part, in tow from Bone to Vado, sank Aug. 4/5-1950 ("Lloyd's War Losses", Vol. I). Escorts (received from Don Kindell): Related external links: Empire Ships listed in alphabetical order (also has a section for Liberty Ships). OG, OS and KMS and KMF Convoys - in chronological order, starting with 1939. To the next KMS convoy in my list KMS 6 |
