* Note that Jamaica Pioneer is not included in the Advance Sailing Telegram - she has been added to the A 1 form by hand. Also, comparing the above with Arnold Hague's listing for this convoy (available on the page naming ships in all HX convoys), Jamaica Pioneer is not mentioned. It'll also be noticed that he has some of the ships in different stations.
** Victor Ross became British at some point in 1940, but I'm not sure exactly when. Her nationality is given as British when she was torpedoed and sunk by U-43 on Dec. 2-1940, Convoy OB 251. According to A. Hague, Wirta became a straggler on May 17, while Vivi straggled on the 24th and Bristol City on May 25. |
