Notes: * These ships were still in company when HMS Revenge left convoy. ** There was a Greek and a Panamanian Thalia - I believe this was the Panamanian one. According to Arnold Hague, the ships denoted * became stragglers on March 3, while the ships denoted ** straggled March 4, Everleigh March 5 (rejoined March 12), Pierre L-D March 6 (rejoined March 14), and Kajak and Rushpool on March 2. Also, he says Mount Taygetus straggled after grounding off Dublin, and Oakwood returned to port. She shows up again in HX 27. (Hague's listing for HX 24 is available on the page naming ships in all HX convoys - as will be seen, he lists the ship in station 25 as the British Amerika - ex Danish). Oakwood became the British Empire Moose in 1940, and Delawarean became Empire Hawksbill. A. Hague names the following escorts (extracted from this list of HX convoy escorts received from D. Kindell; dates are European style, day/month/year): To the next HX convoy in my list HX 25 |
