Departed Gibraltar on May 22-1942 and arrived Liverpool on June 3.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 20 ships in this convoy.

Notes:
* Not sure why Melrose Abbey is mentioned in the document for this convoy. When HG 83 sailed, she was en route to Halifax (on her 1st voyage as Rescue Vessel) with Convoy ON 94, and did not return to Clyde until June 18-1942 (with Convoy SC 86). She did, however, take part in Convoy HG 86 the following month.
