Manager: Brummenæs & Torgersen, Haugesund
Tonnage: 626 gt
Delivered in July-1896 from Akers mek. Verksted, Christiania (Oslo today) as Sarp to Brødrene Bjørnstad, Sarpsborg. Tonnage is given as 622 gt, 354 net, 850 tdwt, 175.6' x 27.6' x 13.7', Triple exp. 72 nhp (Akers). From Jan.-1915 she was owned by Orkla Gruber (Orkla Mines) and registered as Dragset of Trondheim. See also the external page that I've linked to above, which gives some different information.
Her captain as per Aug.-1942 is said to have been Ole Økland (identical to Salonica's captain?). According to this external page, her captain for a while was Johann Hermann Johansen Skylvik, who had previously commanded Hill. Later served as captain of Cresco, Stadion II and Raftsund.
Her voyages are listed on these original images from the Norwegian National Archives:

For information on voyages made in between those mentioned here, please see the documents received from the National Archives of Norway and A. Hague's Voyage Record above.
Thore Hafte is listed in Convoy HN 9B from Norway to the U.K. at the end of Jan.-1940 and is said to have arrived Middlesbrough on Febr. 11, her voyage having started out in Sauda. Early in March, A. Hague has included her in the U.K.-Norway Convoy ON 17, and at the end of that month we find her in Convoy HN 23A from Norway, for which Regin served as Commodore Vessel. Follow the links for more information; several Norwegian ships took part in all these convoys. Thore Hafte was bound for Middlesbrough with a cargo of manganese and from Page 1 of the archive documents, we learn that she arrived her destination on Apr. 5 (remaining there for a month), having sailed from Bergen on March 30 (she thereby ended up in Allied service; the Germans invaded Norway shortly thereafter, Apr. 9).
Apart from a voyage to Dunkirk in May, she was subsequently mostly in service around the U.K. Convoy information for some of these voyages can be found in the Voyage Record above.
Some crew members as per Aug.-1942:
Captain Ole Økland (identical to Salonica's captain?), Boatswain Iver Hansen, Able Seaman Johan Johansen, 1st Engineer Berger Eriksen, 2nd(?) Engineer Kaare Gjerde and Donkeyman Karl Olsen.
Thore Hafte took part in the Normandie invasion, arriving June 7, departing June 12-1944, according to "Nortraships flåte" (this voyage is not noted on Page 8 of the archive documents). Again, A. Hague has listed some convoys for this time period in his Voyage Record above.
It'll be noticed, when going to Page 9, that there's a long gap in her voyages, from Nov. 20-1944, when she arrived Gravesend, to Sept. 19-1945, when she left Gravesend for Tromsø, Norway (via Methil Sept. 21/23). Arrival Tromsø is not given. See also Page 10.
Ran aground off Högannäs, Sweden on Nov. 29-1945, when on a voyage Bergen-Gdynia with a cargo of herring - again, see Page 10. Sold to a company in Ystad, Sweden, condemned and broken up after having run aground in Nov.-1950.
This external page says she was owned from Oct.-1946 by Rederi A/B Suecia (P.E. Santesson), Ystad, Sweden, still as Thore Hafte. From 1947, sailed as Anita Hans for Rederi A/B Tern (Axel Hansson), Væstervik, Sweden. Ran aground in Nov.-1950, condemned and sold to L.Simons, Pernis, Rotterdam for breaking up.
Steffen Staalesen, Haugesund had also had a ship by this name in 1912, originally D/S Leif (I/S, Hermanstad, Trondhjem), built 1872, 353 gt. Later owned by Torjer Meling, Stavanger, then purchased by Knut Knutsen O.A.S., Haugesund in 1898. Sold to Steffen Staalesen in 1912 and renamed Thore Hafte. Struck a mine near Falsterbro on Aug. 8-1916 with the loss of 3 men, on a voyage Stettin-Haugesund with general cargo.
