Notes:

As will be seen when going to Page 1 above, Tarn was on her way from Yokohama to Los Angeles when Norway was invaded by the Germans on Apr. 9-1940.

It'll be noticed, when going to Page 2, that the last date on that page is Apr. 20 (departure New York for Rio); this date probably belongs in the 3rd line on Page 3. In other words, she departed New York (where she had arrived from Philadelphia on Apr. 9) on Apr. 20-1942 and arrived Rio de Janeiro on May 6.

Tarn usually sailed independently, but in July-1942, she's listed in Convoy AS 4, which left New York on July 13 and joined up with Convoy WS 21P on Aug. 5. The WS convoy had started out in Clyde on July 17 and arrived Freetown July 27. Both these convoys are available via the external links provided below. Tarn's destination is not given, but from Page 3 of the archive documents, we learn that she arrived Aden on Aug. 29, proceeding to Suez that same day (it looks like she had also stopped by Table Bay before arrival Aden, but there are no dates).

According to the Memorial for Seamen in Stavern, Norway, which I've linked to at the end of this page, Tarn lost her boatswain on March 4-1945. Boatswain Olav Arktander Lauritzen is commemorated at the memorial. The Norwegian text says he died at sea on that date following an illness. According to Page 4 of the archive documents, Tarn was en route from Lobito to New York on that date.

The rest of her 1945 voyages, as well as some 1946 voyages, are listed on Page 5.
