Sailed from U.K. on July 15-1942 to form off Oversay, estimated time of arrival 6 miles from Oversay at 03:00Z on July 18. Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoys System" says with regard to this convoy that it formed (off Oversay) on July 17-1942 and eventually had a total of 13 ships, 8 of which had sailed from the U.S. as Convoy AS 4 and joined at sea on Aug. 5-1942. Only 10 ships sailed from South Africa on Aug. 16, bound for Suez, dispersing off Aden on Aug. 29-1942. |
