 Some Convoy Voyages:
For information on voyages made in between those discussed here, please see the documents received from the National Archives of Norway and A. Hague's Voyage Record above. Follow the convoy links provided for more details.

As mentioned further up on this page, Finnmark was delivered in Jan.-1945 and taken over by Nortraship in Chester on Jan. 20. Already on Febr. 11, we find her in the fast NewYork-U.K. Convoy CU 58, together with the Norwegian Hegra and Washington Express. Finnmarks's destination is given as Swansea, and she arrived there on Febr. 23 - see Page 1. Hegra and Finnmark subsequently joined the westbound Convoy UC 58A*, originating in Liverpool on Febr. 26, arriving New York on March 9, and they are both listed (as are Karsten Wang, Margrethe Bakke and Martin Bakke) in the eastbound Convoy CU 62 about a week later, arriving Liverpool on March 27. Finnmark (w/Karsten Wang and Hegra) now returned in Convoy UC 62A*, which left Liverpool on March 31 and arrived New York on Apr. 11; her destination is given as Philadelphia, where she arrived Apr. 12. Just a few days later, she headed back to the U.K. in Convoy CU 66 (departure New York Apr. 16, arrival Liverpool Apr. 28, Finnmark went to Thameshaven), again with Hegra and Karsten Wang in company, all 3 returning to the U.S. again in Convoy UC 66A*, which left Liverpool on May 2 and arrived New York on the 13th. Finnmark and Hegra then joined Convoy CU 70 in order to go back to the U.K. - departure New York May 15, arrival Liverpool May 25.

For information on her subsequent voyages, please see Page 1 and Page 2, as well as A. Hague's Voyage Record above.

* The UC convoys mentioned here will be added to individual pages in my Convoys section in due course; in the meantime, the ships sailing in them are named on the page listing ships in all UC convoys.

 POST WAR:
