Advance Sailing Telegram and Cruising Order
Departed Halifax on Febr. 13-1944 and arrived Liverpool on March 2

Advance Sailing Telegram Transcribed from several documents received from Tony Cooper, England (his source: Public Records Office, Kew).

From HX 279
|
The Rescue Vessel Dewsbury (requisitioned July 24-1941) was also with this convoy. She was on her 12th voyage as such, having started this voyage from Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 220 on Jan. 15-1944 (to Halifax Febr. 1), returning with SC 153 from Halifax on Febr. 13, to Clyde March 1.
According to Arnold Hague, the Norwegian Buenos Aires, which had been sailing in Convoy HX 279, detached from that convoy at some point and joined up with SC 153. See my page about Buenos Aires. |
