Commodore Hudson, R.N.R. was in Daldorch.

There's a note in connection with Trevorian in the Advance Sailing Telegram saying "Returned Reykjavik" - did she return to Russia?

* Pravda is crossed out in the Advance Sailing Telegram, but is included in the list of ships sailing in this convoy in "Convoys to Russia 1941-1945", though is listed as a straggler from March 23.

** Empire Byron is not included in the list of ships for this convoy in "Convoys to Russia".

Though Convoy PQ 13 got most of the attention from the enemy, U-655 tried an attack on Convoy QP 9, but was rammed and sunk by Sharpshooter, which in turn was damaged, but was able to continue with the convoy.

Escorts:
From Sailing until March 23 (Local Escort):
Minesweepers Gossamer, Harrier, Hussar, Niger and Speedwell, and the Russian destroyer Gremyaschi.
March 21-Apr. 3 (Ocean Escort): Destroyer Offa and minesweepers Britomart and Sharpshooter. (Cruiser Kenya, carrying 10 tons of bullion, was to have been present from March 22 till March 27, but did not meet the convoy).
Distant cover: Provided by the Home Fleet, same as distant cover for Convoy PQ 13 (follow link above for their names).
