* There is some disagreement in my sources with regard to these 2 ships, in that some of my Norwegian books say they were in JW 67. Follow the link to Kong Haakon VII. |
Commodore was in Samaritan, Vice Commodore in Benjamin H Hill and Rear Commodore in Linn Boyd. Black Ranger, Blue Ranger (not included in above table) and Laurelwood were escort oilers. Blue Ranger may have detached en route, she is found in the next returning convoy, RA 66 (departed Kola on Apr. 29), having joined late in the passage, May 5 (available at the external link below). Copeland was on her 35th voyage as Rescue Vessel, joining from Clyde Apr. 17, remained with the convoy to the Kola Inlet, returning with RA 66 on Apr. 29, to Clyde May 8-1945. JW 66 arrived its destination unharmed. Escorts: (The above went on to escort the returning RA 66).
