Notes: Commodore was in Rangitane, Vice Commodore in Remuera. Cruising speed: 11 1/2 knots. The British Matra, on a voyage from Baltimore for London with 5750 tons general cargo, including Butyl acetate, machinery parts, paraffin wax, ethylene glycol, 200 tons antimony ore and 331 tons rubber, struck a mine on Nov. 13-1939 (laid by a German destroyer), 1 mile east of Tongue Light Vessel.
