* See previous convoy, HX 34.
** In station 75 on the original A 1 form, the letters "Foem" are written by hand, with a period behind the name (if it is a ship's name - perhaps it means something else?), then the cargo and destination as given above. A. Hague has the French Rhea in this station, crude oil for Donges. See his listing for HX 35 on the page naming ships in all HX convoys. |
Notes: Commodore was in Cairnesk, Vice Commodore in Craftsman. * The Panamanian D. L. Harper became British at some point during the war, but I'm not sure exactly when. Also, the French St. Malo was seized at Halifax (Canadian Government) in Aug.-1940, according to R.W. Jordan. (Sunk Oct.-1940). According to A. Hague, Texas Trader became a straggler on Apr. 19, while Athelqueen straggled on Apr. 22. He has a note for South Wales, saying "Hull probably via Downs and a FN convoy". Ocean Escort: HMS Laconia. A. Hague names the following escorts (extracted from this list of HX convoy escorts received from D. Kindell; dates are European style, day/month/year): To the next HX convoy in my list HX 36 |
