* The lines are very faint, but it looks like this ship has been crossed out on the A 1 form. The name also appears in the next HX convoy from Halifax, HX 35, so she probably did not sail in this one.

Arnold Hague has also included Empire Conveyor in this convoy, with a note saying "possibly this convoy, dates coincide". See his listing for HX 34 on the page naming ships in all HX convoys.

Notes:
Commodore was in Manchester Spinner, Vice Commodore in Merchant Prince.

According to Arnold Hague, the following ships became stragglers:
Domingo de Larrinaga and Wellfield (both on Apr. 21), Lake Hallwil and Ross (both on Apr. 22), San Ubaldo (Apr. 23), Toronto City (Apr. 20).

Scottish American was torpedoed and damaged by U-13 on Apr. 28-1940; see external link below. A. Hague adds she was towed to Loch Erribol.
Seminole was damaged after having struck a mine. A. Hague says she was beached and later salved.

Ocean Escort: HMS Royal Sovereign.

A. Hague names the following escorts (extracted from this list of HX convoy escorts received from D. Kindell; dates are European style, day/month/year):
Ottawa - From 10/04/40 to 11/04/40
Restigouche - From 10/04/40 to 11/04/40
Royal Sovereign - From 10/04/40 to 20/04/40
Saguenay - From 10/04/40 to 11/04/40
Warwick - From 23/04/40 to 26/04/40
Windsor - From 23/04/40 to 26/04/40
