CONVOY HX 323
Departed New York City on Nov. 29-1944 and arrived Liverpool on Dec. 13.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 40 ships in this convoy.

Transcribed from several documents received from Roger Griffiths - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.

The ships are listed in the order in which they appear on the various documents.
A 1 form is not available to me and, therefore, I don't know the station numbers of these ships.

Notes:
Commodore, J. O. Dunn, R.N.R. was in the Norwegian Samuel Bakke. Vice Commodore was Rear Admiral H. E. Diesen (Norwegian Navy) in the Norwegian Laurits Swenson. Commodore's notes not available.

The Rescue vessel was Copeland was on her 32nd voyage as such, having started this voyage at Clyde with the westbound Convoy ON 264 on Nov. 4-1944, to Halifax Nov. 19 - returning with HX 323 from Halifax on Dec. 1, to Clyde Dec. 13.

Alan-A-Dale, on a voyage from New York to Antwerp with Government stores, was reported sunk by a midget submarine on Dec. 23-1944. She had a crew of 42 and 23 Armed Guard, no casualties.

Fort Maisonneuve, on a voyage from New York and The Downs for Antwerp with 6142 tons of general cargo including explosives, struck a mine and sank on Dec. 15. She had a crew of 48 and 12 gunners - 4 died.
