Notes: Commodore was in Remuera, Vice Commodore in Modavia. * Victor Ross became British at some point in 1940, but I'm not sure exactly when. Her nationality is given as British when she was torpedoed and sunk by U-43 on Dec. 2-1940, Convoy OB 251. ** According to Arnold Hague, King Edward was towed to St. John's, N.F. following a collision; Port Hardy had stood by her for a while. Hague's listing for HX 30 is available on the page naming ships in all HX convoys. (King Edward does not show up again in an HX convoy until HX 51 in June-1940). Ocean Escort: HMS Revenge. A. Hague names the following escorts (extracted from this list of HX convoy escorts received from D. Kindell; dates are European style, day/month/year): To the next HX convoy in my list HX 31 |
