December 30 (Zone + 4)
11:30 - Passed outer spit buoy, Bermuda, course 040 degrees, 10 1/2 knots. Forresbank astern.
12:00 - 7 knots.
16:00 - Convoy closed up, course 040 degrees, speed 8 1/2 knots.
December 31 (Zone + 4)
11:00 - Exercised alter course and Emergency signals.
Noon position - 35 04N 62 09W.
17:30 - Wind squally(? should this be squarely?) on port beam. Took station on port beam of convoy.
January 1 (Zone + 4)
08:00 - Speed 8 knots. Took station ahead of convoy.
Noon position - 37 32N 59 44W.
January 2 (Zone + 4)
08:00 - 8 1/2 knots.
Noon position - 39 26N 56 56W. Experienced a set of 32' 8 10W.
12:45 - Altered course 033 degrees, 9 knots.
18:30 - Pendants 51 (S/S Forresbank) dropped astern with engine trouble and all the starboard columns with her.
19:00 - Reduced to 8 3/4 knots.
20:00 - Starboard columns coming up into station.
January 3 (Zone + 4)
08:30 - Increased to 9 1/2 knots as star sights again showed an adverse set.
Noon position - 41 51N 54 30W. Made good 7.6 knots.
12:00 Altered course 037 degrees, speed 9 knots.
14:00 - Signalled Comorin that BHX would be 2 hours late.
22:00 - Reduced to 8 3/4 knots.
24:00 - Put clocks on one hour.
January 4 (Zone + 3)
Star sights again gave large south-westerly set. Shall be at least three hours late at Rendezvous instead of two.
08:30 - Altered course 050 degrees.
10:20 - Sighted smkoke bearing 054 degrees. Altered course 060 deg.
11:15 - Went on ahead of convoy.
11:20 - Sighted Comorin. Comorin reports HX 100 30 miles ahead. Apparently no notice taken of my signal that BHX would be 2 hours late.
Noon position - 44 12N 51 53W. Nine miles astern of position at revised time of Rendezvous.
13:00 - Comorin reported HX stopped.
13:30 - Sighted HX convoy.
15:00 - Left BHX 100 astern of HX 100 in position 44 25N 51 20W.
