CONVOY CU 48
Departed New York on Nov. 23-1944 and arrived Liverpool on Dec. 5.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 29 ships in this convoy.

See also Ships in all CU convoys (includes tonnage of each ship, and year built), and Escorts for all CU convoys.

Here are the eastbound Convoys SC 161 and HX 321, which had sailed between CU 47 and CU 48.

Transcribed from documents received from Tony Cooper, England.
His source: Public Records Office, Kew.

These ships were American, except where otherwise noted.

Notes:
Comparing the above to a list of ships received from D. Kindell, based on Arnold Hague's research, I find that A. Hague has not included Four Lakes in this convoy.

No further details are available on CU 48.

Escorts (Received from Don Kindell - His source: The late Arnold Hague's database):
USS Ebert
USS Harveson
USS Joyce
USS Oswald
USS Peterson
USS Poole
USS Slater
USS Somers

They all joined on Nov. 23-1944 and left on Dec. 5.
