 Notes:

It looks like Vestvangen was in Mobile, Alabama when war broke out in Norway on Apr. 9-1940. According to Page 1 of the archive documents, she left Mobile on Apr. 10, arriving New Orleans the next day. Her 1941 voyages start on Page 2 and continue on Page 3 and Page 4, which also shows most of her 1942 voyages. As will be seen, she appears to have spent quite a long time in New Orleans that year. She had arrived there from Ciudad Trujillo on Apr. 14-1942; departure New Orleans is given as Aug. 25 - arrived Key West Aug. 30. Occasional long stays in port are shown elsewhere in her record as well. Convoy info for some of her voyages can be found in the table above.

 POST WAR:

According to this external page, she was owned from 1949 by Skibs A/S Karaibien (Gørrissen & Klaveness A/S), Oslo, no name change. From Febr.- 1950 owners were Rederi A/B Advance (Algot Johansson), Mariehamn, renamed Adeny. From 1952 she was owned by Rederi A/B Sally (Algot Johansson), Mariehamn, same name. From 1962, sailed as Catherine for Overseas Timber Sh. Co. S.A (Vincenzo Pappalardo), Beirut, Lebanon. Sold in Febr.- 1971 to Giuseppe Riccardi, Vado Ligure for breaking up - commenced that same month.
