 WW II:

Ulf W. Gustavsen, Norway has told me that she was involved in whale catching for most of the war, but in the period 1942-Nov.-1943 she was requisitioned by the U.S. Navy for use by the Coast Guard as guardboat, while the external site that I've linked to below says she was in the Coast Guard (as WYP 379) from Apr. 5-1943 till July 7 that same year, at which point she was returned to owner. The site adds that she was assigned to the Westseafron, stationed at Monterey, California and used for patrol duty.

Again, please see the archive document for information on some of her voyages.

 POST WAR:

Returned to owners in May-1945. Trygve Eriksen, Norway has informed me that she was sold in 1961 to Skjelnan Kvalstasjon & Co. A/S, Tromsdalen, and in 1966 to Brødrene Anda, Hundvåg (Stavanger), renamed Jadar. Rebuilt in 1968, a 6cyl 4t single acting MWM dm 900bhp motor installed. Sold in 1970 to P/r Olaf Moflag, Stokkøy, Fosen, renamed Moflag Senior (fishery No. ST-50-AA). Converted to seiner at Frengen Slipp & Motorverksted, Fevåg in 1971, 499 gt. In 1973 a 2t single acting Wichmann of 1750bhp was installed. Owners later became P/r Moflag (Olav Moflag jr.), Stokkøy, Fosen. Sold in June-1985 to KS Torfin Gangstad A/S, Midsund, renamed Midøy Viking (M-55-MD). Renamed May in 1988, condemned that same year, and deleted from Norwegian registers on Nov. 10-1988. Later sold to Sjuve Ship Gjennvinning, Kristiansand, "de-rigged" by owner in Kristiansand. Towed from Kristiansand to Nedstrandsfjorden by tug Lofjell, June 3-1989, and sunk there together with tug Fram II the next day. (Trygve's sources: Thor B. Melhus in "Skipet" and Alf Johan Kristiansen). See also this thread on my Ship Forum as well as the last external link below for more detailed history.
