Colombia rescued the crew from the Norwegian Luna in Dec.-1939; follow the link for more details.
According to A. Hague, she sailed in the U.K.-Norway Convoy ON 15 at the end of Febr.-1940. The following month we find her, with general cargo for Hull, in the original Advance Sailing Telegram for Convoy HN 20 from Norway to the U.K. Again, follow the links for further details; several Norwegian ships took part in both these convoys. Colombia arrived Hull on March 27, and judging from the information found on Page 1 of the archive documents, she was still there when war broke out in Norway on Apr. 9-1940.
According to Page 8 of the documents received from the National Archives of Norway, she was laid up at Greenock on Sept. 13-1944. The next (and last) entry is for March 13-1946, when she left Glasgow for Haugesund, Norway.
Sold in Febr.-1952 to Naviera International Transportes Maritimes, Panama and renamed Semra, then from 1956 she sailed as the Spanish Xacharias Lecumberri of Seville. Broken up in Castellon, Spain in 1963.
Back to Colombia on the "Ships starting with C" page.
