Delivered from Moss Værft & Dokk, Moss (73) in March-1938 as Bertha Brøvig to Partrederiet Brøvigtank (Th. Brøvig), Farsund. 2415 gt, 1449 net, 4050 tdwt, 316' x 47.5' x 19', 3 cyl. Compound, 228 nhp.

 Notes: 

Radio operator was Kristian M. Akselsen all through the war and until 1947. (He later became a captain, serving on Ugland's Lisita, Juanita, Favorita and Senorita. He died in Jan.-2006).

Judging from the information found on Page 1 of the archive documents, Bertha Brøvig was on her way from New Orleans to Progreso when war broke out in Norway on Apr. 9-1940, and it looks like she continued in this kind of service throughout the war. Occasional long stays in port are shown.

 POST WAR: 

Sold in 1961 to Transportacion Maritima Mexicana, Vera Cruz and renamed Merida. Sold for breaking up in 1968.

This company had another Bertha Brøvig later on, delivered in Nov.-1968, 13 766 gt. Later names: Greek Astor Princess 1976, Greek Flag Tina 1984, broken up in 1993.
