CONVOY RU 39
Departed Reykjavik for the U.K. on Sept. 7-1942, arrived Loch Ewe Sept. 11.

Received from Tony Cooper, England - His source: Public Records Office, Kew.

Note: I'm assuming all Danish ships were under British control at that time.

Notes:
According to "R. W. Jordan's "The World's Merchant Fleets 1939", the Danish Delaware came under German control upon the invasion of Denmark (tonnage for the ship in this convoy is given as 2280 gt, which fits with the Danish Delaware). He adds that she was attacked and damaged by British aircraft off The Hague on July 7-1941 (I find it odd that she should be in this convoy). For info, there was also a Finnish ship by this name, but of 2441 gt, requisitioned on Dec. 27-1941 by USMC (later became the Panamanian Puchero).

No further details are available on this convoy.
