Sailed in RU 35

Notes:
"Convoy Rescue Ships" (Arnold Hague), also lists the Rescue Vessel Copeland as being in this convoy. She was on her 19th voyage, having made an independent voyage from Clyde to Loch Ewe July 7–July 9-1942. She then joined Convoy UR 32 from Loch Ewe to Reykjavik (July 12–July 16), returning to Loch Ewe with RU 34, Aug. 3–Aug. 7-1942.

For info, the majority of the ships in this convoy later returned to Reykjavik from Loch Ewe on Sept. 2, then joined Convoy PQ 18 to Murmansk on Sept. 8, some returning with Convoy QP 15 on Nov. 17. Kentucky had been damaged in an aircraft attack on PQ 18 and went ashore, while 9 ships were sunk by aircaft. Other losses (by U-boat) are given at the 2nd external link below.

Beauregard, Gateway City and Oremar had also sailed from Loch Ewe on Sept. 2, but did not continue with PQ 18; Beauregard had to return, and the other 2 were bound for Iceland only. (Dynastic is listed in JW 51A / RA 52, while Calobre, Yorkmar, Vermont and Jefferson Myers are listed in JW 51B from Loch Ewe towards the end of Dec., returning with RA 53 in March-1943). The first external link provided below has more on all these convoys.

No further details are available on Convoy RU 34.
