CONVOY HG 49
Departed Gibraltar on Dec. 29-1940 and arrived Liverpool on Jan. 15-1941.
Arnold Hague's "The Allied Convoy System" gives 22 ships in this convoy.

Notes:
Additionally, the Rescue Vessel Beachy was intended to join this convoy. She was on her 3rd voyage as such, having started this voyage at Clyde with Convoy OG 49 on Jan. 7-1941, detached Jan. 11, and was to return to Clyde that same day with HG 49, but was sunk in an air attack while joining. 5 of her 38 crew were killed. ("Convoy Rescue Ships 1940-1945", Arnold Hague).
