Bencleuch, Clan Monroe, British Resolution, and Nagpore are listed in Convoy HGF 20 (also, Runo).

* Dan-y-Bryn joined at dawn on Febr. 18 - left the following night.

Notes:
Commodore, Vice Admiral R. A. S. Hill C.B. C.B.E. was in Burma, (commodore'd the entire convoy, and the West coast section "B"), Vice Commodore, Vice Admiral B. Fairbairn, C.B.E. was in City of Baroda (later Commodore for the "A" section).

Number of ships in convoy: 35
Number of ships present at rendezvous with local escort ("A" section): 18

Average speed (Gibraltar to Dungeness): 7.02 knots.
Splitting point-Dungeness: 6.8 knots.

"A" and "B" sections parted company in 48 22N 8 40W at 15:45 on Febr. 24.

Sitala left at 10:00 on Febr. 26 in 50 01N 2 20W, f. o. for Dunkirk.
Bayano left for Southampton at 22:00 on Febr. 25 in 49 37N 3 50W.
Koster left for Devonport at midnight on Febr. 25 in 49 40N 3 35W.

The Commodore says:
"In order to comply with the time table, a very low average speed had to be employed from the splitting point to the Downs. This is objectionable as the convoy is less handy in emergency and the accuracy of navigation is less. The Convoy was dispersed when Dungeness was abeam at 0350/27. Later however, the visibility became low and the Escort (HMS Bideford) signalled that he considered the convoy should anchor. The signal to anchor was at once made by Aldis lamp, steam whistle, and as the convoy was already spread out and there was urgency, by W/T in addition. Some of the Convoy anchored, but by the time the rear ships had come up it was clear enough and there was also sufficient light to proceed without danger".

Escorts:
HMS Leith and HMS Bideford joined at 16:00 on Febr. 17, remained to splitting point.
07:45 Febr. 24 (48N 10W): HMS Bideford and HMS Whitshed.

Air Escort:
From 09:18 on Febr. 24 in 48 24N 09 34W - last seen at dusk on Febr. 26.
