Notes:
When comparing the above list to a list of ships received from D. Kindell, based on A. Hague's own research, I find that A. Hague has not included Santiago in this convoy. However, he has listed the Norwegian Washington Express, saying she returned to port, following a collision with Flying Eagle. The Norwegian ship is not mentioned in the Advance Sailing Telegram for this convoy, but she appears again in Convoy CU 22.

Pan Pennsylvania, on a voyage from New York for Barry Roads with a cargo of 140 000 barrels of 80 octane gasoline and a deck cargo of 7 aircraft, was torpedoed by U-550 on Apr. 16-1944. She had a crew of 50 and 31 Armed Guard - 15 crew and 10 Armed Guard were lost. The U-boat was sunk that same day - ref. external links provided below. The ship was later bombed and sunk by Allied aircraft on Apr. 18.

No further details are available on this convoy.

Escorts (Received from Don Kindell - His source: The late Arnold Hague's database):
USS Gandy
USS Harveson
USS Joyce
USS Kirkpatrick
USS Peterson

They all joined on day of convoy's departure and remained until Apr. 26.
