Hello Thomas, Francesco and Jordi,
RORQUAL laid actually three minefields:
1. At 1110-1119/25.03.41 starting from a position 041° - Cape Gallo - 3.7', a line 4.5 cables long (300 feet apart) in a direction of 280° (10 mines).
2. At 0940-956/26.03.41 starting from a position 022° - Asinelli Rock Light - 2.2', a line 9 cables long (300 feet apart) in a direction of 290° (19 mines).
3. At 1048-1103/26.03.41 starting from a position 308° - Asinelli Rock Light - 1.5', a line 1 mile long (300 feet apart) in a direction 29° (21 mines).
I believe that minefield No.1 sank the torpedo-boat CHINOTTO at 0940/28.03.1941 and minefield No.3 accounted for TICINO and VERDE.
RORQUAL torpedoed and sank LAURA CORRADO on 30.03.1941 and the submarine PIER CAPPONI on 31.03.1941.
Best regards,
Platon
