hi,
Quote:de domenico
The formula used by Rohwer "RORQUAL reported one torpedo attack after the minelaying sortie which resulted in the sinking of the TICINO" reminds me of the well-known Delphi oracle motto "ibis, redibis(,) non(,) morieris bello": "you will depart, you will return (not), you will (not) die in war" . What resulted in the sinking, the torpedo attack or the minelaying sortie?
and, using the normal meaning of "report" in a naval logbook, you might as well read it as "RORQUAL reported one torpedo attack [on itself]" ...
Normally, you donīt "report" an own attack.
