Destroyer Bath Casualties:
|
This list of 70 names was found in the Norwegian magazine "Krigsseileren", Issue No. 4 for 1973. Bath is not included in my ship lists. The destroyer was sunk on Aug. 19-1941 while escorting Convoy OG 71. Another source, "Nortraships flåte" by J. R. Hegland says 83 died, yet another says 86 died in all. I found some of these men commemorated at a memorial near Vallø Church in Norway on this external website (scroll down until you get to a picture of a church - there's a list of men from that area who died during the war). I've used this list to correct some of the names found in "Krigsseileren" and have marked them with a *.
