Hallo again
Six weeks ago i asked about a norwegian ship that i can't find in no book (Roger W. Jordan, Jürgen Rohwer or Gerhard Hümmelchen) nor on this web site. Unfortunatly i got no answer. So i'm trying again.
Because most of the other information on the Web Sites (link below) are proofable, i wonder that nobody knows something about this ship.
>Monday, 17th November,1941 .... D807<
'SS Modemi' (1,481t) a Norwegian ship was torpedoed and sunk by a U
Boat in the North Sea, off the Northumberland coast.
My source is:

Axel
I looked for this one last time you asked, but without success.
At that time there was no Norwegian vessel named MODEMI, so it could be that the original source was misinformed.
The only traces of MODEMI I have found is as a former name, first for the Norwegian steamer BERTO (see on this website and also in Rohwer), and the Italian steamer LUIGI (see "The World's Merchant Fleets 1939").
As for the date quoted in the original report, there does not seem to be any vessel attacked by a submarine off Northumberland on that day, although of course we now know that not every incident was "reported".
