Good Day and greetings. My name is Parke Wright and I am a 6th generation Floridian and member of the Lykes Family of Tampa, Florida. My ancestors established a cattle ranching and shipping company with service to Havana , Cuba from Tampa, Florida , together with Capt. James McKay, from about 1850 onwards. This lead to the establishment of Lykes Bros. Steamship Company. My great Grandmother Tillie Lykes'son Solon B.Turman ( great-uncle ) ran the Company for many years. My question today is , is it possible to identify where the Lykes ships were sunk in the Caribbean, as I would very much like to mount a dive expedition to find at least a few of them, even if they were in Cuban waters.
Also I wish to pay tribute to the Families of those lost at sea during WW II, aboard these fine ships. Any advice or knowledge would be greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
John Parke Wright
