There are at least two books on the Salvesen Company. "Salvesen of Leith" by Wray Vamplew, Scottish Academic Press, first published 1975. Also "From 70 North to 70 South" by Graeme Somner, a history of the Salvesen Fleet, 1984,ISBN 0 9509199 0 X.
I think the ship you are referring to is the Culter ex Empire Rhodes, built 1941 Dundee. Sold to Turkish owners 1959, renamed Virginia Ipar. Broken up Istanbul 1970. As far as I am aware Billy, this ship never visited Korea in 1951. I first sailed on her in December 51, she was then chartered by Shaw Savill Line for voyage UK/ Napier,Wellington,Dunedin. About this time Salvesens also owned Culrain and Culross, former Empire ships.
Regards,

Bill
